Jean Brooking

Hello All,

My name is Jean Brooking and I have been involved with Stokenham Pre-School since its start in 1972. The headmaster at the primary school was concerned that a lot of children on starting school had not had the opportunity to mix with others of their own age. A meeting was called, I got involved, signed up for training, as it said, the rest is 'history'.

During my 38 years I have seen a lot of children and now have the children of those who came at the beginning. My four grandchildren have all been here and it's great to see this progression.

Until July last year I had been manager for many years but in September 2009 handed over that role to the capable hands of my colleague Julie Dixon. I am now the Administrator and part-time Supervisor, and love my job here. Watching so many little ones blossom and progress over the years has been a great pleasure and I hope to continue for a while yet.
