Tracy
O'Reilly

Hello,
my name is Tracy
O'Reilly. I am a mother of two girls, both of whom attended Stokenham
Pre-School, from September 2005 to September 2009. As a parent I first
became involved as a committee member, helping decide on the Pre-School's
policies and procedures, as well as helping plan, organise and assist
in fund raising events. In 2006 I became the Pre-School's Treasurer, dealing
with the day to day running of the school's finances. I occasionally helped
out at the school, working alongside the qualified staff.
In the spring term
2007 I instigated an art project with the children in which they designed
and made mosaic fish. These can be seen today on the front of the Pre-School's
building. The finished pieces of work were incorporated in the mural,
which I painted to celebrate the school's 35th anniversary. In the future
I hope this mural will be added to, reflecting the childrens' individual
work as the pass through the Pre-School.
As a parent myself
I am very aware of the importance of a child's early years learning. I
was fortunate enough to have shared this precious time with my children,
playing and exploring alongside them, giving them the opportunities and
experiences to express their individual thoughts and ideas. I have recently
gained my NVQ level 3 in Childen's Care, Learning and Development enabling
me to work as a fully-qualified supervisor at Stokenham Pre-School. I
work at the school on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I am a qualified
First-Aider and have a Level 2 award in Food Safety and Catering.
Within my role
at Stokenham Pre-School, I hope to continue to enthuse children in their
individual learning journeys.
